MALACHITE Stacking Ring

$45.00

A dainty piece of malachite has been hand-selected, enveloped in copper, and mounted atop a thin copper band.

Please allow for variations in size, color, and texture, as each ring is as unique as its wearer. You are welcome to convo me and I can send a photo of what I have in stock in your size. Please do not refer to a specific ring in a photo. I produce hundreds of pieces, and the photos serve to represent the design.

*My packaging contains leather! If you would prefer vegan packaging, please notify me, as I am happy to accommodate!

CARING FOR COPPER JEWELRY:
Each piece has been polished and sealed with a jeweler’s wax. Over time, copper will oxidize and become darker as it ages. This process is known as patination. Your order will include a mini jeweler's polishing cloth in case you'd like to brighten your piece up at any point.
Copper jewelry is also known to cause “greening” of the skin. This is not an allergic reaction to copper (a copper allergy is actually quite rare), but a very typical consequence of wearing copper jewelry. The degree of greening largely depends on the wearer, as it is another oxidation process that occurs when the metal comes into contact with the skin’s natural oils. For some, greening never occurs, while others experience it regularly. If soap and water doesn’t remove the green coloration from the skin, a non-gel toothpaste will do the trick.

CUSTOM ORDERS:
-Please message me if you would like me to make you a custom piece. Be aware that I cannot accept some requests due to a number of different factors, so please don't take it personally.
-It is helpful for me to get a sense of your budget upfront.
-You will be charged an extra custom order fee between $15 and $50 depending on how much extra time/labor/materials your piece will require. For example, if you want to pick your own stone to be made into a stacking ring, that is quite easy to fit into a batch that I'm already working on, so you would only be charged $15. If you want a crown made of crystals, that will require its very own plating bath, and a lot of extra work, so you would be charged a $50 custom order fee.
-Custom order fees are IN ADDITION TO the price I quote you.
-Please allow up to 2 months for me to make your piece. I receive a large volume of orders and most of the time I am unable to rush orders.
-If you'd like your piece to be copper only, the turnaround is a bit shorter. If you'd like heavy silver or gold plating, you may be waiting the entire 2 months.
-You may send me your own stone/item to be made into jewelry, but I cannot promise you that it will not get damaged and be lost forever. It is uncommon, but can crack during construction or while being plated/repaired, even when the greatest level of care is taken. If you'd be heartbroken to lose this item, please reconsider placing an order with me. I don't want to make anyone sad!
-Upon placing a custom order, it is required that you make a deposit of 50% of the cost of your custom order, in addition to paying the custom order fee. You will be asked to pay the remaining amount upon completion of the custom work.

**All of our jewelry is nickel-free!

INFO ABOUT SILVER PLATED JEWELRY:
Each piece has been plated in a very thick layer of sterling silver. The electroplate is thick enough to stand up to daily/regular wear, but keep in mind that to prolong the life of the silver plate, it would be wise to remove your jewelry before swimming, bathing, sleeping, and strenuous activities. Be aware that adjustable pieces have been made slightly more rigid once they are plated, and you must bend them very gently to avoid cracking the plate.

Silver is known to darken when it oxidizes, and sometimes the patina can rub off onto skin. Our cuffs have been coated in a commercial-grade chromate, which serves to protect silver from oxidation and thus prevent it from tarnishing. This layer will eventually wear off, exposing the silver beneath. If the silver does tarnish, you can simply remove it with a jewelry polishing cloth.

INFO ABOUT GOLD PLATED JEWELRY:
Each piece has been plated in a very thick layer of 14k gold. The electroplate is thick enough to stand up to daily/regular wear, but keep in mind that to prolong the life of the gold plate, it would be wise to remove your jewelry before swimming, bathing, sleeping, and strenuous activities.

INFO ABOUT COPPER/BRASS JEWELRY:
Each piece has been polished and sealed with a jeweler’s wax. Over time, copper and brass will oxidize and become darker as it ages. This process is known as patination and you can easily remove the patina and shine your piece back up with a jewelry polishing cloth.

If you are purchasing a wedding ring/heirloom piece/something you want to last for several years, you must avoid being rough on your jewelry and remove it before bathing, sleeping, swimming, working with your hands, using tools, etc. I am personally very hard on my jewelry and my pieces have stood up to heavy wear with minimal visible damage to the gold/silver plate and no skin greening after several months. The better care you take of your jewelry, the longer it will last. I would rank our jewelry above standard costume jewelry, but below fine jewelry in terms of quality and durability.
